Any one that has been to Specialist Hospital Yola in recent times, - TopicsExpress

Any one that has been to Specialist Hospital Yola in recent times, will agree with me that the place is DEAD. My sister had a terrible experience lately, she was in labor with some complications, she was then taking there. She was rushed there because, previously she had a terrible experience in the private Hospital, the husband thought Government Hospital could help out. She was there from 8am to around 10 pm, no Doctor showed up. Several calls were sent but the Doctor on call did not respond. We then rushed her to FMC, they turn down the patient because there was no referral letter from the SH. We came back to get referral but the Nurse said she cant give any referral until the Doctor showed up. I call a Doctor friend, he came but he couldnt do much since he dont work there. All through the night several calls were sent the Doctor refuse to showed up. We manage to get one of the Doctor on phone, he said we should come to his clinic in the morning. I was told by the Nurses that, the Doctors hardly showed up or respond to calls. One of the Nurse confesses that in one of the Ward at that moment, not a single Nurse is on duty, that it is only one first year student of School of Nursing that is keeping eyes on the patients. Well, thank God my sister has put to bed eventually. What i came to believe is that, a lot of lives are been wasted in that Hospital with the kind of attitude i saw there. Nothing works there. Adamawa Government keeps making propaganda and all that, to cover up the rottenness in that Hospital. The public needs to condemn such unprofessionalism and babrbaric approach to work. It is highly unacceptable. Though from what i gathered, the 600 bed capacity hospital has less than 10 Doctors and the Nurses sometimes stays 9 month without payment. Does these all point to the incompetency of Gov Nyako?
