Anybody interested in learning more about tralmafadorians heres a copy of the beginning of the piece I wrote for news leader: In 1967 I was captured by a flying saucer. That saucer was from Tralfamadore, a place far from earth, and also very different. The creatures there do not at all look, or act as humans do. They are two feet tall, green, and shaped like plumber’s friends. At the top of their plunger shaft lay a hand with a single eye in its palm (right). Besides looking different they also do possess some inhuman abilities. For example, they can see in four dimension, while humans can only see in three. The Tralfamadorians can look at all different moments just the way we look at a stretch of the rocky mountains. It is just an illusion we have here on earth that one moment follows another one, like beads on a string, and that once a moment is gone, it is gone forever. When a Tralmafadorian sees a corpse, all he thinks is that the dead person is in a bad condition in that particular moment. Now when, when I hear that somebody is dead, I simply shrug and say what the Tralmafadorians say about dead people, which is “so it goes.”
