Anyone familiar with this case (bit.ly/1wmqUPM), which my good friend Robert Bauval has been drawing attention to for many months, will realise how absurd it is that six Egyptians and three Germans have been sentenced to prison terms of five years each (the Germans in absentia) for stealing what amounted to a few grains of paint from the relieving chambers of the Great Pyramid. It is sinister that part of the rationale for these draconian sentences is that the accused were said in court to have mounted QUOTE an attempt to tarnish Egypts image by saying the pyramids were built before the ancient Egyptians and that they did not take part in building them. Thus, authorities rationalized that the Germans were spreading false information to harm Egyptian national interests. END QUOTE. It is a dark day for alternative history, and for freedom of speech, if even suggesting that an earlier civilization might in some way have been involved in the creation of the monuments of the Giza plateau exposes those who make such suggestions to the risk of being accused of harming Egyptian national interests and to possible jail sentences. For further background on this murky story check out Robert Bauvals blog: bit.ly/1v3HUPW. The entry for 5 September 2014 is of great interest but for details on the Khufu cartouche affair scroll down to the entry for 17 August 2014. Meanwhile Zahi Hawass, according to Ahram Online, faces new charges of stealingEgyptian antiquities. See my latest post here: https://facebook/Author.GrahamHancock/posts/10152870410427354
