Anyone who has spent much time in any level of government can confirm that there are strings attached to receiving both Federal and State grants and funding. I believe that is one way the decisions of the local Board of Education (and others) may be heavily influenced in the coming years. Also, there are directives issued through state level channels that align local schools with national standards. My question to the BOE candidates is this, if handed a directive or when applying for funding you see wording that forces something similar to what the attached article speaks of, would you comply, or would you be willing to stand your ground and say no, risking the loss of federal / state grant money? dailysignal/2014/09/30/school-board-tells-homeschool-family-curriculum-must-guided-common-core-standards/
