Anzac Ultra Update Karen 19 Oct 2014 Great run this morning, finished the week off with the #Fernleigh15 which I turned into the Fernleigh30. Ended up doing a few extra Kms than I was suppose to this week, I was only meant to do 87km but finished the week off with a total of 95km. I broke my butt on the long stair set on Thursday and I reckon if anyone had have driven past and seen me in the gutter when Id finished they would have rung an ambulance. When I got home and read the program it said WALK, oooh I thought I was suppose to run up the stairs, will know next time to pay more attention to the program. Saturdays are suppose to be my rest day, but for the last 2 weeks in a row I got a little carried away as pacer at parkrun ,(sooo unlike me, Lol) So back to todays run, if I had have followed my program to day I was to run 28km at 5:50/km pace, ran the first 15.2km and finished in 1hr 17min (gun) average pace 5:05, turned around and ran back, finished that 15km in 1hr25min with an average pace of 5:43 and to be honest it was the easiest 30km I reckon I have ever ran. Only cruised didnt kill myself and really enjoyed it, hoping that means Im getting fitter. Big shout out to the volunteers out there today, the #NightStriders looked fantastic all in pink and the #FiveThirty / #Genisis red and blue crew. Thanks for the super soaker Emma-Leigh Heighway and Im not sure if Elke Watt was trying to help on the way back with 3 cups of electrolyte and a handful of red lollies or trying to put me in a sugar coma !! Pip Cave and Cheryl Hayward were kept busy in the #Runlab tent, sorry I didnt get to catch up with you, was pretty hectic at the finish line. Let you know how I go next week, Cheers https://anzacultra2015.everydayhero/au/Karen
