Apologies for the radio silence, the lead up to Chinese new year - TopicsExpress

Apologies for the radio silence, the lead up to Chinese new year is hectic to say the least. Ive become a bit used to just not talking to anyone other than at work (barring Linda) seeing as though the conversations I can have in Chinese become awfully repetitive when you have the same ones four times a day, every day for 18 or whatever months. I have to talk all day every day, and attempt to communicate with my bosses (the three of them) one of whom can almost speak English (to the point where 60% of the time she uses the correct words) at the same time as teaching. There was a whole hilariously insane fiasco on Xmas eve or somewhere close where essentially they seemed to have misinterpreted a conversation that went a little like this; Me: Well teach primary one song, just like Kindergarten Boss: Oh no no, we will teach primary one song per class Me: That is impossible, we have 2 lessons with them (45 mins each) before the night they perform Boss: No no, its fine. The Chinese teachers will do it Me: Ok, well we want nothing to do with it, it wont work. Bodd: OK they will do it On the night, Kinder went up, all good, everyone was delighted and then they say over the mic; and now primary together performing the same song. Of course this is in Chinese so I assume I mistranslated, until that is, the boss gestures over and asks me to lead the primary in the song. By this point the logic centre of my brain was melting and I simply got up there and went along with it until about 40 seconds in when they cut it off because the kids didnt know the words. This is a daily struggle where I have to argue and persuade people that yes actually does mean yes and not no. Anyway, Im on holidays now so Ill try to be less antisocial.
