Apparently the Irish media are trying to brush past this event as if it were nothing more than a mishap. I want every one of my American friends to imagine what it would be like in your own town right now if the skeletons of 800 children were discovered in a septic tank of a religious institution. Picture it. You wouldnt be able to get within a square mile of the place with police, state and local, the FBI, forensic experts, media crews from all over the world, helicopters, trauma experts, freelance journalists. In Ireland they are still discussing whether they should even bother investigating it at all. My mind is so blown by the idiocy at play in this case that I havent been right for days. How is this not a crime scene already? Here is a page that has been set up for those who want action taken. Its not much, but its a beginning, a forum to go vent and follow the latest developments. Perhaps if enough public support can be gathered then the imbeciles who are running the country will be forced to initiate the proper procedure, so that an independent investigation can begin.
