April 13 Renewing our mind 2014 Romans 12:9 ESV Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. The Greek word for goodness is xrēstótēs (divine kindness) is the Spirit-produced goodness which meets the need and avoids human harshness (cruelty). Each characteristic of the Holy Spirit is divine. The fruit is from Gods divine spirit that indwells the believer. Mans lower nature will wrestle and war against you trying to change. The more we practice yielding to his Spirit the more evidence of His fruit will be evident in your life. You never lose the pull but the more we surrender our will to His the stronger we become. Now yesterday we talked about the core of the fruit now we get the seed of the fruit that is imbedded in the core but these can be sown and used for reproduction. Our random acts of goodness are cast forth upon the earth and into the souls of man and penetrate their souls and much like when we plant a seed in a pot. Then with the right amount of water, soul, and fertilizer a plant is born. So as we sow the fruit a life can be born again. Now where did all this reproducible fruit start, with you receiving and loving God and your neighbors. Jesus said the whole law is fulfilled in these two request. Lord please help me continue to abide in your love that I might love others and do random acts of kindness and goodness that they may taste and see that you are good. Help me help them to see how much you love them. Show me one action I can do today to show your goodness at work in me! Thank you that I can overcome my selfish fleshly self and walk in your way of living! Faithful tomorrow!
