April 1994—following years of ethnic tension between the Hutus and Tutsis, a series of mass killings violently breaks out in the small African nation of Rwanda. Over the next one hundred days, one million people—twenty per cent of the population—are brutally tortured and killed in one of the worst genocides the world has seen.
