April 1994—following years of ethnic tension between the Hutus and Tutsis, a series of mass killings violently breaks out in the small African nation of Rwanda. Over the next one hundred days, one million people—twenty per cent of the population—are brutally tortured and killed in one of the worst genocides the world has seen. To learn more about how the Rwandan Catholic Church, including priests like Father Emmanuel Nsengiyumva, is helping the people of Rwanda forgive, heal and unite, following the 1994 genocide, watch the eight minute DVD Heal the Broken-Hearted. The DVD also features the stories of Edouard Bizumuremyi and Immaculée Mukamunana, who both lost their families during the genocide. Watch the DVD now: catholicmission.org.au/RwandaDVD
