April Fools or not...Im wondering if those who use social media really read what they write and sign off on as such meaningless verbiage before hitting the share button. Such rhetoric sends a backlash of confusion and quandary through the minds and spirits of its recipients that seems to have no end until offense has overtaken their time. Now offense seems to be more of a defensive position to take. Sometimes, and more often than one realizes, we get more offended over something that isnt even directed towards us personally as insults or comments made from those who originally made the invasive remarks. Low self esteem and comparing oneself to others usually attributes to living in a state of offense. But the social media society we live and breathe in, and even sometimes make our living by, is a place of freedom to propagate our agendas however and whenever we feel and deem it necessary. This entry is one said slice of freedom itself. But did I really put much thought into who would read its content, and will they get angry at mere words without contemplating the true meaning? Not really. Because this wasnt penned from the heart of someone who lives in a constant state of offense. Where the spirit of The Lord is, there is freedom and liberty. Truth and grace abounds in the living word of God. Its sharper than ANY two edged sword because it cuts and heals simultaneously. Human words do not. They do one or the other, but are not capable of such a thing. Thats why Jesus, stepping out of Heaven, taking on the flesh of a human, was the Word of God in the flesh, dwelling among us, stomping out the sinful nature of mankind by shedding His blood on the cross of Calvary. My guilt of sin and shame, and even offense, was nailed to that old rugged tree for all time and eternity sake. So be of good cheer, Jesus has overcome this world and all thats in it. He had plenty of opportunity to get offended, but he chose to put his flesh under submission to the spirit. So can you.
