April greets the Philippine summer heat as KagePro enthusiasts all over the world begin their final countdown for this months upcoming anime entitled Mekakucity Actors! What normal people call heat, we call kagerou. A common line passed from forums and blogs about Jins Kagerou Project. The project was popularized by a series of Vocaloid songs which rattled the Nico Nico charts. On what may seem to be a mainstream lining of characters at first glance, Mekakucity Actors is no ordinary anime. The story unfolds a tale about a group of children who call themselves Mekakushi Dan(roughly Blindfold Gang) as they struggle against the summers heat haze with their bright red eyes. The main character of the series, Kisaragi Shintaro, is a shut-in who only spent his days surfing the internet. Ene, a virus/AI(artificial intelligence) in his computer, had pulled a prank on him which costed him his computer. In the quest to buy a new computer, they step outside for the first time in years unaware that that was the start of the looping summer days. Jin, Shizennoteki, and Wannyanpuu are the well-known names behind the popularization of the series. With the use of Vocaloids IA and Hatsune Miku, they made songs and music videos introducing the mainframe of the series to the viewers. As the month of March closes the school for most of us, Filipinos. April opens brand new beginnings, brand new cosplay events, and of course, brand new series to talk about!
