Arab self-described liberals and the Muslim Brotherhood do share one thing in common: at the heart of matters, both believe that they (and only they) should be allowed to govern with the utter absence of an opposition they disagree with. Because their beliefs (and only their beliefs) are naturally sound, logical, and represent the ultimate solution. In other words, the one thing both groups have in common is that neither understands what a democracy is, which leads me to believe that neither is truly interested in it to begin with. And for me, that may be one of the biggest lessons to emerge from the Arab Spring.
