And by this way of life, we become witnesses to the truth and power of Jesus Christ. ...In today’s world, we are constantly being bombarded by a host of secular and religious pressures. They seek our souls and the souls of our children. But this is nothing new. The faithful of the Church have ALWAYS been bombarded by these. ...So to begin with, our actions must speak louder than words. Protopresbyter Alexander Schmemann wrote on missions that, “one is first sent to oneself, then to the family and then to the world.” In other words we are no good if we are not seeking our own salvation first. And that is a lifetime of work right there. We must live the life of an Orthodox Christian.
