Enviado: viernes, 01 de noviembre de 2013 09:51:32 a.m. Para: palmeros30@hotmail Dear supporter, As one of more than 1.7 million people who sent urgent letters to Russian embassies to Free the Arctic 30, youre not just an Arctic defender. Youre part of a tide of ordinary people around the world joining to build an extraordinary movement. But our friends are still not free. Instead its becoming increasingly clear that they are not in jail because of what they did, but because of what they represent: a movement of millions standing against the most powerful oil companies in the world and their plans to destroy the pristine and fragile Arctic. We need YOU to keep the pressure on. Call the Russian ambassador in your country now and ask to speak with or leave a message for him/her. This is what you can say: I ask Russia to immediately release the Arctic 30, detained for a peaceful protest against Arctic oil drilling. As part of the global community with a huge Arctic responsibility, Russia can demonstrate its leadership in other ways. After calling, please leave a comment telling us how the embassy responded. Its important for the world to know how the Russian authorities are responding to the thousands of people demanding freedom for the Arctic 30 on a daily basis. It will only take a couple minutes to make the call. The Arctic 30 know you’re on their side. From their cold jail cells in Murmansk, theyre reading letters from friends, family, and supporters all over the world. So we must keep fighting for them. Oil companies like Shell and Gazprom are counting on the world to forget about the brave activists who dared confront the monstrous power of the oil industry. Lets make sure it doesnt happen. Each action you take is another voice for justice, for peaceful protest, and for the vital need to protect the planet we call home. Thank you so much -- for everything.
