Arctic high pressure continued to build into the region today, - TopicsExpress

Arctic high pressure continued to build into the region today, resulting in sunny skies, but cold temperatures and very dry air. The snow from yesterday was shunted southward overnight. Consequently, central Louisiana received an inch or two of snow. It was even snowing late this morning and early this afternoon in Lake Charles and freezing rain was occurring as far south as New Orleans! High pressure will begin to slide eastward this evening, resulting in a return to southwesterly winds later tonight and tomorrow. This will warm our temps into the 50s over the weekend, but dont get used to it....another arctic front it forecast to blast through the area early Monday, sending our temperatures back into the deep freeze for most of next week.
