Are We There Yet? † From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. And the people spoke against God and against Moses, Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? Numbers 21:4–5 ESV The Israelites were on the way to their promised land but it took longer than they thought. It was an eleven day journey but it took forty years because of bad attitudes and disobedience. I am thirsty, where is the food, are we there yet? Complain complain. It is human nature to want to get where we are going. We set out to go to somewhere and just want to get there. Always looking at tomorrow: When the weekend comes we are going to… When our vacation comes we are going to… When we retire we are going to… while completely ignoring our life quickly passing by. Remember: Your life is happening on the journey today. How you react today will help determine how long it takes to reach your goals. Enjoy today, lighten up, laugh a little. Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift. That is why it is called the present. No, we are not there yet, but we are on the way. Jesus loves you so much that He traded His life for yours! :)
