Are You Faithful? Proverbs 20:6 Faithfulness is a character trait lacking in the lives of many people. Men of integrity, trustworthiness, truthfulness, and authenticity are replace with those who are physically strong but morally weak, materially rich but spiritually poor. Solomon wrote in our text, Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness; but a faithful man who can find? Gods Word says, It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful (1 Cor.4:2). When a need came up in the early days of Christianity, there was a call for men of character-men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom (Acts 6:3). Among the seven men chosen was Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost (Acts 6:5). When Paul and Barnabas were to deliver an important message to Antioch, they wanted men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 15:26), and Judas and Silas were chosen. When Paul described Timothy, he said of him, For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel (Phil.2:20, 22). Paul also went on to describe Epaphroditus who, because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me (Phil.2:30). Tychicus was called a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord (Col.4:7 cf. Eph.6:21). Onesimus, too, was called a faithful and beloved brother (Col.4:9). Faithfulness produces abundant blessings and brings glory to God (Pro.28:20). Are you faithful today? Does God deem you a man or woman of faith?
