If the teacher didnt write on the chalk board thou shall not kill, steal, or take a wife, then you could sit in your house and eventually all of humanity would kill themselves off once again. Hey, look out the window there goes two running down the street with wives over there shoulders, two more down looks like one stole an apple from the other one, and two more look like there stabbing people in the neck with a pencil. Humanity had to get there freewill taken. The commandments were a gift of morals so humanity could survive.
