Are there unforgiven sin in the world since Jesus died on the cross? Written By: William Wimbs While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8) If Jesus died for us while we were still sinners, did he die for a select group or did he die for all while they were still sinners. Some say he died for those who accept Jesus as their Savour, but that is not what scripture says, the scriptures say, and while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Paul being the apostle to the Gentile, he writes there is no difference between the Jew and Gentile (Greek) (Rom.10:12), do you just suppose he is speaking to everyone? When do you say that forgiveness of sin is received when Christ died on the cross or when you believed and accepted the gospel? Remember the Bible says while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us and dont forget 2 Cor. 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; Here we find out that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself. Do you suppose He meant just those that believe and accept Jesus as Savour? If that is the case then why did he use the word world, which indicates all people on earth? Would it not have been much plainer if he had said, God was in Christ reconciling the people who believe in Christ, but he did not say that, he said, it like He meant to say it, he said, the world. Today in this time of the grace, God is not keeping record; he is not imputing anyones sin to them. When Jesus died on the cross, everybodys sin in the dispensation of grace was in the future. There are no unforgiven sins today; just unforgiven people because they refuse to believe that Jesus paid the price for there sin. Most people think to have there sins forgiven is equivalent to being saved and that is not Biblical. There are no unforgiven sins in the world today, Jesus died for all, not just for a select few. (2Cor.5:14 …that if one died for all, then were all dead :) Eph.2:8, 9 tells you how you are saved and 1 Cor. 15:1-4 tells you where your faith must be placed to be saved. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 1Cor 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 1Cor 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 1Cor 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1Cor 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: In hell, there will be many that had their sins forgiven, in this day of grace all mens sins are forgiven, this in no way implies that all men are saved for they truly are not. they are there in Hell because of the failure to exercise their faith in the finished work of the cross, failure to accept the death of Christ as payment for their sin debt, God accepts it but men dont. To have your sin forgiven puts you in a place where you can be saved, forgiveness of sins is not salvation and the bible does not teach that it is, faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is what saves the soul. When you believe anything other than what is stated in 1Cor. 15:1-4 for salvation, you believe in vain, and are still a lost cause.
