Are you a Veteran with an art skill/talent you want to share? The National Veterans Creative Arts Local Competition is scheduled for the week of February 9, 2015. This competition is open to Veterans who are enrolled at a VA Medical Center or Outpatient Clinic BEFORE entering the local competition. An eligible Veteran can enter local competition at only one VA facility per year. The competition includes 51 categories in the VISUAL ARTS division this year that range from oil painting to leatherwork to paint-by-number kits. In addition, there are 100 categories in the PERFORMING ARTS pertaining to all aspects of music, dance, drama and creative writing. There are also group categories in both visual and performing arts. Staff have started to accept entries Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:30-2:30pm in building 403/room 1345. DEADLINE for submission is Monday, February 2nd, 2015 at 4:30pm. Local Art Judging will be Monday, February 9, 2015. Local Performing Arts Judging will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 @ 9:00am in the midway.
