Are you coming to the City Council meeting? We need to fill that - TopicsExpress

Are you coming to the City Council meeting? We need to fill that room with supporters for them to take us seriously! Heres some things to keep in mind: While we invite EVERYONE from everywhere to join us, only those residing in Belgrade city limits may approach the podium and address city council. We are encouraging everyone to limit comments to 2 minutes. While we are allocated 3, we are trying to move everyone through and get home by a reasonable time. No worries if youve practiced your speech and its 2:15 or whatever. Its just a guideline to help you prepare. For those of you wondering what to talk about, heres some ideas we discussed last night: Nutritional benefits of backyard eggs versus grocery store eggs, food control, cost effective way to acquire NUTRITIOUS protein on your property, how many chickens most families will actually start with to meet needs versus whats written in the proposed ordinance, objections by our opponents are covered under proposed ordinance, certain breeds of chickens are great for backyard needs (quiet, high egg production, good personality, etc.), noise, smell, inhumane living conditions for commercial chickens, and of course, the sociological impact of the food movement. For those of you who hate public speaking but still want to try and say something for our benefit, please just give them your name, address, and tell them that you support the passing of this ordinance. Above all, were asking for this because we believe its an opportunity to better our community. Its not intended to ruin the neighborhood or disrespect our neighbors, and our group will work with would-be chicken owners to ensure the happiness and health of Belgrade chickens and all who neighbor them. Were so excited and thankful for your support through all this, and we hope youll join us in this pivotal event taking place tomorrow night!
