Are you drinking enough water? How much should you have? With all of the warm weather weve been getting lately how much more have you all been sweating? Its important that when we sweat we replace those fluids which have been lost to avoid dehydration. Hydration has been linked with many benefits including: -Increased energy & cognitive function- your brain is mainly water, hydration helps you to focus. -Weight loss & Aids in digestion- having a glass of water before meals will fill your stomach so that when we eat our meal we will fuller sooner. -Improves immune system- drinking water regularly decreases chances of colds/flu, certain cancers, heart attack & water allows for toxins to be flushed out of the body, also reducing risk of kidney stones and UTIs. -Prevents cramps & muscular injuries- water keeps your joints lubricated and your muscles more elastic which will greatly reduce the risk of injury during workouts/ sports performance. Water is free and easily accessible/ keep a bottle of water at hand incase you need it. As a rough guide people should be drinking 1 litre per 25kg of bodyweight. More if its a hot day/ you are training as you may have lost a lot or water through of sweating. Clear urine is a sign of being in a hydrated state, if its dark/yellow its a sign that your dehydrated, so for every 1kg of BW lost after a training session aim to replace that with 1.5 litres. Hope this helps anyone. #hydration #WATERBOY ...#WATERGIRL #asterionfitness
