Are you surprised that Jovan Belcher, who played four NFL seasons before killing his girlfriend and himself in Dec. 2012 is now suspected of having CTE (a degenerative brain disease) from the concussions he suffered on the football field? I believe that much of the erratic and violent behavior carried out by NFL veterans carries with it the inherent possibility that most if not all suffer from brain trauma. Years from now we may learn more about this epidemic that cannot be erased. The NFL still has not been as forthcoming about what it knows and knew about brain trauma for the last 50 years or more.In this respect I believe the league is complicit in covering up and soft pedaling a a horrible reality.Football at all organized levels is a potentially deadly sport whose effects may not be seen for decades.
