Argument X: People have the ability to go to war and kill each other, Therefore: People ought to go to war and kill each other. This argument is invalid because not everyone can/wants to go to war, no matter how much it is advertised through mainstream media or popular culture (movies, video games, etc) If everyone were to go to war and kill each other, we would live in a world with very little to no people left, while the ruling class sits in its gilded palaces safe and snug under the rockies. The argument is invalid because war is not necessary for humanity, it is a by-product of human nature, but it is not a necessity for survival. Babies cannot go to war until they are indoctrinated to want to around high school, the elderly cannot go to war because they were already shipped off overseas decades ago in the name of stopping communism and ensuring capitalist dominance. The sick and mentally ill cannot go to war, because some of them cannot even find the strength to life a weapon, or even comprehend what war is. Frankly, war is something most people do not want to do, and those who do, do not make it very long, unless they are in office.
