Argumentation, it refers to a form of communication wherein a speaker uses a reason giving discourse in order to seek acceptance of a particular claim in opposition to acclaim advance by others. It is informal setting usage, occur any time as long as disputants follow principles of reasoning. Debate, it refers to a formal oral controversy between two opposing teams one of which attempts to persuade to convince to the audience to accept, and the other to reject the proposition under consideration. It is a formal controversy occurs in a specific time, place and agreed by two teams. :)
