Arizona Black History - An Eye Witness. None of us will live - TopicsExpress

Arizona Black History - An Eye Witness. None of us will live forever, and lately we seem to be exiting this fair earth, quite regularly. When we are gone, what will our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren know of the positive influences our segregated community had on our positive growth and development? If we dont preserve our history, if we dont celebrate our humble beginnings - who will? When you pull out those old photo albums under the coffee table, it would be nice to combine those with images from our community as well, school, churches, parks special events, and etc.. Then you can include them all on a DVD with music, to be viewed on your Big Screen HD TV. Photos below are from 3 different Black Newspapers, the Arizona Tribune, the Arizona Sun, and the Phoenix Tribune from 1919. All black newspapers published in Phoenix, and spanning 96 years. It is far easier to show your grandkids what life was like, than to just tell them. We try to do a multimedia event with still photo, video interview, with chronologically appropriate music. The tentative date for our next Eye Witness Slideshow is (appropriately in Black History Month), February 28th. The venue is TBD, and open for suggestions. What are your suggestions? Let us know, and come check us out.
