Army probe cannot be trusted at any cost: HCJK ‘Chattergam killings should be probed by independent investigative agency’ Srinagar, Nov 28:Terming the demand of families of youth martyred in Chattergam firing by Army as ‘justified’, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) Friday said the forces involved in killing should be tried in some impartial court of law or by any independent investigative agency.“The probe by Army cannot be trusted upon at any cost. The past record is before our very eyes as to what they did with the cases of Machil fake encounter, Chattisinghpora, Kunan Poshpora, Asiya Neelofar and 2010 killings,” the spokesperson of HCJK in a statement issued to press said.He alleged that state administration, instead of acting against the culprits of these crimes, always tried to shield them “and the perpetrators are still roaming free.” “Such cases should be dealt as per international laws,” he said.Meanwhile, HCJK spokesperson while expressing serious anguish over the continuing arrest spree of youth and pro-freedom people said that police arrested Freedom Party activists Waheed Ahmad Dar at Kralgund when he was distributing anti-election posters in the area. “Such arrests depict the level of frustration the state administration is suffering from and their claims of so-called democracy have fallen flat.”Lashing out at ‘pro-India’ politicians, the spokesperson challenged them to fight pro-freedom leadership on political front . “Despite arrest of Freedom Party chairman and HCJK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, the election boycott campaign is continuing with full fervour.” The spokesperson pledged that pro-freedom leadership and activists will propagate their message with regards to election boycott despite all such oppressive measures by government. “We will never let anyone to play with the sacred blood of martyrs.”He also severely condemned the continuous detention of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shabir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash,Moulana Abdullah Taari, Muhammad Yasin Ataai, Iyaz Akbar ,Mohad Yaseen Malik,Zafar Akbar Bhat, Waheed Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad, Freedom Party’s employee Zameer Ahmad and other pro-freedom leaders,Bashir Ahmad, Ashraf bin Salam and others. “Government cannot break our resolve and we’ll continue our mission till the dawn of freedom,” he added.
