Arni rang gom shravon e yay ,,karo yi aey darshun diye,,valley of Kashmir ,once in the later part of medival Kashmir was reverberating with the songs like these .the songs were enough to recapitulate the great pain and agony mountains like kolhai ,mahadev has seen being subjected on a girl.the girl is none other than our own arini mal.arini mal ,a beautiful village girl born and brought up in a small hamlet of central Kashmir palhalan area .this area once was the great seat of imperial power of lalitya ditya but now was subjected to the melancholia’s singing of arinimal.’’ma shook yar sendi bari mus piyalati ,,aalav ditto say,,,’ alav di tosay ,,kand ty nabad bari mus piyalat ,,rang rang ni to say,,alav di to say’..arinimal was married to a city dweller family from rainawari area of srinagar .his husband loved her,but being a piety poet could not meet both ends of his life .as a result both had to suffer a lot as far as finances are concerned .but a ray of hope opened doors to new hope,where in king ‘a pathan kazal bash subedar’ of Kashmir valley appointed arinimals husband as a court poet .at first ,arni’s husband ,gained lots of momentum as far as fame and name is concerned but things were to change .dark clouds were ready to drain out their water over that ‘the lady of Kashmir arnimal’.what happened ,after that was that a beautiful dancer came to the court of pathan subedar ,who by all means entrapped srni’s husband in her beauty and vulgarity .the love was lost arnimal stood alone at house ,later her relatives send her back to palhalan,where she continued to live a life of aloneness and melancholy .she sang the echoes of bul bul,she sang like koel ,she sang for her groom but it was all on deaf ears .arnimal gave up food,smile , and all delights of life .she continued to sit at the door ,looking for her ‘shravan’ but no one ever came till many years passed. The dancer women at srinagar court ,left for home leaving the poet deserted .being alone and deserted ‘shravan ‘ went to palhalan.while he was on his way to that hamlet ,arinimal breathed her last sigh.arinimal died leaving the valley of Kashmir weeping,the death of arinimal that year was observed by mountains ,chinars,deodars of valley .as it goes ‘wan yaren hund shrun shrun bozith ,,lolnaren saen arman drai ,,andi andi kho ti bal istad rozith,,pat vat lolus kanchan aye,,,,arimal is alive ,,her songs alive
