Arrest on wanted subject leads to drug charges on another: Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Mikey Ashurst along with Deputy Tyler Morris, and Deputy Brandon Broughton, and Bailiff Cody Faulconer arrested two individuals off Hawk Creek road, 8 miles West of London on Saturday night October 11, 2014 at approximately 11:47 PM. The arrests were the result of deputies being at a residence attempting to serve a warrant of arrest. Deputies encountered the subjects husband who advised that his wife had left the residence earlier and was not home. While speaking with the husband deputies observed the female subject attempting to flee out the back of the residence, and deputies took her into custody charging Nikki Reed Hoskins age 26 of Hawk Creek Rd., London on two Laurel County Bench warrants of arrest for failure to appear in court. While deputies were arresting the female subject wanted on warrants, they observed her husband throw an object under the police car. Following a short scuffle with the male subject, deputies retrieved an advil bottle that contained a clear plastic baggie containing a crystal like substance suspected to be crystal meth. Deputies arrested Shannon Hoskins age 29 also of Hawk Creek Rd., London charged with possession of a controlled substance first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; tampering with physical evidence; and resisting arrest.
