Arrested a car thief today in the parking lot cnr. Beyers Naude Drive and Hockey Avenue, Northcliff After receiving a panic signal from one of our clients premises in the retail centre, Officer Bulisane Sibanda was dispatched to the premises -two backup units following close behind. Upon arrival, Sibanda noticed three armed black male suspects attempting to steal a car parked in the parking lot (a white Toyota Previa). The suspects noticed Sibanda and raised a pistol in his direction. Sibanda, after managing to maneuver his vehicle to form cover, immediately exited his vehicle and charged toward the suspects, who were at this point fleeing the scene on foot. Two of the suspects managed to reach a getaway vehicle (a silver Mercedes Benz SLK) and flee the scene, whilst their less lucky counterpart was subdued and arrested by Officer Sibanda. Backup arrived moments later, followed by the Fairland SAPS who took the suspect into custody. Well done Officer Sibanda, an absolutely sterling job! Stealing a car surrounded by black boards is just simply not an option! #StayVigilant #StaySafe!
