Arrived in Darwin at dawn, nice taxi ride for $20 ($4 in Hanoi), with a Chilean driver, found the key to the house of my friend and am now planning my days activities, a long sleep. Thanks to all the Hanoians who wished me well, particularly my hospitable neighbour and landlord, Hien, who returned my bond before I moved out, Duys family who took me to the airport, other neighbours Huong Anh and Duc, and Phuc and Linh and their parents, who sent over food and good wishes, and Kim from VNA who recommended me to take classes and backed me up for four of the five years I was in Hanoi. Whenever things and people got me down in Hanoi, I just had to think of them to realise how strong and generous the Vietnamese are. Thanks also to the parents of my students for your support and the students themselves for being so enthusiastic and refreshing.
