Arsenal plot move for Barcelona starletPosted on June 28, 2013by Abhinav Tyagi Arsenal lead a host of topclubs who are reportedly eyeing a move for 19 year old Gerard Deulofeu, thelatest La Masia superstar graduate. The Barcelona youngster is currently dazzling spectators with his brilliance at the Under-20 World Cup being held in Turkey and seems to have acquiredquite a fan following among Premier League giants. Deulofeu has a contract with Barcelona till 2017 and was tipped to be the next big thingout of La Masia, but the recent signing of Neymar is sure to put the youngster down the pecking orderat the Nou Camp. This change of scenario inthe fortunes of Deulofeu has interested a host of Premier League clubs. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have already hinted their intention of signing the youngster while Chelseaare also preparing to join their opponents in the chase forthe youngster. The Gunners have a slight advantage due to Wenger’s supernatural ability to attract youngsters though it is yet to be seen whether Barcelona willlet go of theirstar talent so easily but since Wengeris packing a huge transfer budget, money is not likely to be anobstacle. Everton and Swansea are also interested in the player but a permanent move for theRoberto Martinez or Michael Laudrup’s side looks unlikely. A loan offer from the clubs may interest the Catalans and Deulofeu as well. Any decision on the youngster’s future will betaken only after the U20World Cup. The Gunners are closely watching theSpanish U20 team in Turkey as Arsene Wenger is in an ominous mood to lure the young Catalan awayfrom Les Cules and present him to the Gooners as a future star.
