As 2015 begins and everyone is busy setting their new year resolutions, I wanted to share an audio visual piece I created about some inspiring volunteers in the Upper West Side of New York City who work every week to provide meals to people who need it. I got the chance to meet them on the biggest night of the year - their Christmas dinner. In New York City alone, some 1.4 million people - mainly women, children, seniors, the working poor and people with disabilities — rely on soup kitchens and food pantries while 2.6 million experience difficulty affording food for themselves and their families. The volunteers themselves all come from diverse backgrounds and had a variety of reasons for volunteering but the thing they all had in common was a love of the people and a deep sense of satisfaction in giving back. Something to consider for your resolutions next year...! Id like to wish everyone a happy and fulfilling 2015 and to thank you for following my work this past year - I sincerely appreciate it :)
