As 2015 begins, we at Barnards would like to say a big Thank You! - TopicsExpress

As 2015 begins, we at Barnards would like to say a big Thank You! for the support given to our farm by those of you in our community, realizing that some of you travel a long distance to visit our store here at the farm. The weather in 2014 led to good quality fruit and vegetable crops for which we also give thanks. During 2014, Sam Barnard passed away in May at the age of 97 1/4. Sam was active in his greenhouses here at the farm all through 2013, and his decline was not prolonged. He told wonderful stories of the past, was well-respected, served as an inspiration to us all and is greatly missed. Sams legacy lives on in his specialty crops - snapdragons and freesia - cut flowers that both decorate and perfume our store and many of your homes. Also in 2014, April Filiault, a long-time employee, lost her battle with melanoma in September, and we miss her input, help and friendship. All of this is part of life, and overall, 2014 left us with positive thoughts for the coming year. We wish you a very happy 2015! During the winter and spring we will be open Monday-Saturday 9-6, and will be closed on Sundays. We will return to Sunday hours in August. We will post updates as our greenhouse crops progress. We are now harvesting snapdragons for bouquets and arugula for salads! Apple cider is made fresh throughout the winter. Check out our special prices this week!! We have our own apples, as well as citrus from Florida and California, vegetables, as well as apple sauce, apple butter, and lots of snacks to enjoy!! Stop in and see us when you can!
