As Calgary and southern Alberta begins a massive cleanup and rebuilding effort in the wake of the recent and devastating flooding, we are starting to hear from community members who need the support and assistance of our Synagogue community. Calgary Jewish Federation has now set up a Calgary Flood Emergency Fund. You can donate at jewishcalgary.org. 100% of your donation will be distributed to those in need via Jewish Family Service Calgary or to other disaster relief agencies. As a community, Calgary Jewish Federation is organizing a volunteer effort. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Diana Kalef at [email protected] and she will advise you as to where your efforts would be most appreciated. Jewish Family Service Calgary has also set up a JFSC Disaster Relief Fund. Please call JFSC directly at 403-287-3510 to make your generous contribution today. In addition to helping hands, we know of one Beth Tzedec family that needs temporary rental accommodations sufficient for three people and one pet. If you can help, or you know of someone who can, please contact the Beth Tzedec office at 403-255-8688. Beth Tzedec congregants have a long history of supporting and nurturing one another and the community at large. Thanks for stepping up on behalf of fellow congregants and community members who need our immediate help during this time of need.
