As Christians we are responsible for the teaching we sit under and what we hear preached from the pulpit every sunday. We are to compare everything we hear in regards to God to the bible because it the the only infallible source we have that God has given us to know Him in truth and to know the only way to be reconcilled to Him. One of the functions of a Pastor is to proclaim what God has said, not to give his opinion, or to leave out certain parts to appeal to certain groups of people, NO it is to faithfully preach what God has said. Pastors are called by God to feed and tend His sheep. The sheep are believers and they are to be fed Gods word. That means they are to be taught Gods word, deep truths from Gods word, and they are to hear the bad news so they can understand and appreciate the good news. "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick".- Luke 5:31. The good news is foolish until you know and believe the bad news. The church exits to worship God in truth, and the only source of truth about God is his word, the bible should be the central part of every worship service and if its not we need to ask why? If the message preached is missing certain hard truths that are absolutely essential to the Christian faith, and the Only Way that sinful men can be reconcilled to Holy God, or if these truths are glossed over and hardly mentioned then we need to ask why? Why is it that a Pastor would willfully not preach on certain things? Well either he is deceived, has an angenda that has nothing to do with God, or he thinks he knows better than God......he has no faith in Gods word that clearly says that Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. They are called to preach the full counsel of God, to pay careful attention to themselves and all the flock and to care for the church of God which the Holy Spirit has made them overseers of, this chruch(body of believers) that Christ obtained with His own blood. The most loving thing a minister of Gods word can do is share the Truth with people who are present to hear from God, in a loving way yes, in a compassionate way yes but the truth..
