As Dr Ha-Joon Chang says, austerity is a complete failure. In fact the only thing its done is allowed the rich tax avoiding friends of the government to buy up real property (land, shops, homes, etc) at a bargain price as everyone else, disabled, unemployed, working, self-employed, small and medium business owners, suffers; and of course been used as an excuse to privatise publicly owned services so more rich friends of the government can profit from previously state owned property. All four of the major parties (UKIP, Conservative, Lib-Dem and Labour) funded by their rich friends, have stated their intention to continue austerity; which will only benefit their rich friends and is bad for the country and 99% of the people. Only the Green Party has the economic awareness, and the will, to introduce policies to regenerate the economy.
