As I came home today I passed a government school where children were arriving for the afternoon shift. Girls and boys crowded around their vans, catching their book bags as they were tossed to them from the top where the bags are secured during the journey to school. Little children, neat and clean in their uniforms, held hands as they walked to the school, laughing and joking despite the harsh October heat. Through a crack in the wall I could see children running and playing, working off all the extra energy that accumulates when sitting a classroom for long hours. I smiled at this beautiful sight, far more beautiful to me than any mountain, lake or ocean. Far more beautiful than any luxurious shopping mall or fancy restaurant. And far more beautiful to me than gold or silver or any other precious metal or jewel.
