As I move toward TACFIT Zulu at Level 4, there are two movements I havent done in awhile, prompting extra preparation. I find it helpful to use video for self-critique at this point. In the Bruiser Clubbell Swipes, I noted a recurring tendency to keep one arm bent during the bottom portion of the swings, and a bit of wildness in my elbow placement going into the back position. After reviewing the video, I used a correction Scott Sonnon taught me at our August cert, pushing the Clubbell away before it came back to horizontal on the front swing. I could feel the Clubbell pull my arms straight, which helped to control the entire swing and reduce fatigue. On the Kettlebell Goblet Throws, the main issue was a tendency for the Kettlebell horns to fall back toward my body on the throw. I am working on generating a more vertical, rather than rotational, force on launch, which will let me concentrate on body positioning in the squats without worrying about getting hit in the head by flying iron. Im looking forward to stringing it all together.
