As I predicted, I got emotional as I stood in front of St. Benedict Building on this gloomy afternoon. Tears welled up in my eyes as I scanned the building from first floor to fifth. Then my gaze moved on to where the student council’s office used to be, my command center and home. For the first time, I think I got the truest perspective on my school experience, most especially my senior year. A lot of hard work, exams, late nights, homework, school projects, deadlines, teachers’ requirements, student body programs, Operation Joy, Newspaper Fund Drive, Ms. Linda David’s cheering competition, students’ discipline, OSB sisters’ constant complain about long nails, low socks, above knee skirts, notorious behavior, and boisterous laughing. Whew! It was one hell of a ride and more! I guess I am grateful for this visit. Made me realize that life was what I made it in school, and that a big part of what I am now I owe to the Benedictine Sisters and my HFA teachers who had been great influences in my life. Whatever goodness you see in me now, I owe it to my Alma Mater. “As has often been said, the youth who loves his Alma Mater will always ask, not What can she do for me? but What can I do for her?” (Le Baron Russell Briggs) Time to give back and express my gratitude to my beloved Alma Mater! Throwback blast on the 29th of December at the HFA old site! Hope to see you all there!!! In this video: Sr. Edna M. Quiambao, OSB – HFA Directress Sr. Mary Ignatius “Iggy” C. Aquino, OSB – HFA High School Principal Ms. Ines L. Manaloto – HFA Registrar, President of HFA Alumni Association, HFA Batch ‘71 HFA Teachers and Students HFA Batch ’79 extends its sincerest thanks to Sr. Edna, Sr. Iggy, Ma’am Ines Manaloto, teachers and students who participated in this video. Ora et Labora!
