As I reflect upon conversations, I noticed tone and clarity are the key to communication. When we are at a business, there should be no arguing over customers food or the appearance of an argument. I was at Chic-fil-A today, daughters Fathers Day treat, and employees were bickering over the fill of the order. I confronted them stating that I was not paying for unnecessary arguing over my food. I further stated that I did not paying to hear it. Later, the other employee who appeared to be more mature stated that he apologized for their behavior and gave two free passes for grilled chicken sandwiches, the item over which there was an argument. Next, the manager brought the two young employees out to have a conference with them after speaking with me. He asked me how things were without knowing I had the issue with the young employees behavior. At any rate, I explained my issue. I told him that this company has represented consistency all over town. I further stated that professionalism is mandatory, exceptional performance is the goal. I added that I did not want anyone terminated, but I was hopeful that the teens mindset could learn how to improve their performance in the public eye. He apologized and went to work on them. He did not raise his voice or allow either of the male or female employee to be disrespectful during the conference. He stated that mission and goal of the company, allowed them to speak without interruption, and stated that following company policy would have prevented such an incident. I was so thankful for the immediate correction and allowance for another chance. I dont want anyone fired, but I do want our youth to understand the importance of communication, professionalism, and behavior that is not acceptable in front of customers. GOD bless that manager! I have not seen such leadership, patience, tact, and concern in a long time. Parents train your children, especially working age teenagers, that there are consequences in the workplace that they may not be able to afford to receive. Remember professionalism is mandatory, but exceptional work is the goal. Consistent product served on demand is what keeps a business booming. millionairemindintensive is for those who want a business versus a job.
