As I said on twitter just over 24 hours ago that I was exhausted I just for once did just that went to bed and woosh was asleep in minutes unlike me normally yes I know. The day started with a meeting of the Surrey Vision Action Group (minus for me the first 15 minutes, due to all the trains running late, though would have been almost on time if it had not been for the wet conditions meant I was even less willing than normal to rush down the stairs so despite the kind member of staff at Clapahm junction who even tried to keep the train those extra two seconds we just missed by that margin and normally I’m taken by car but prefer the train even though Surrey travel is not great via the train if you want to across the county) sigh Luckily was in time to hear from the SAVI chief executive and and an expul dorton Pupil Joel Young’s talk on Guide Dogs for the Blind’s latest campaigns, and towards the end somewhat disappointed by the talk on DWP but we won’t go there. I then via a bit of treasurer work my Father had to do at the local branch of Nationwide which was for a little while problematic; from there tried and in itially failed to have lunch as a traditional pub was fully reserved with every table reserved by a group of at least 30 maybe 40 of them, “great” indeed, so Whetherspoons to the rescue, and stupidly had two courses and didn’t realize one was meant to be a ‘sharer’ but rushed it down though did enjoy two Abbot Ales, and was still few minutes late for the SurreyCC monitoring meeting of the Advocacy service provided by Surrey Disabled Peoples Partnership (SDPP) at the same Molevalley district council meeting room where SVAG was in the morning, but contributed there too, and then went two stops from Leatherhead to Epsomm (main) Station, and had ‘Take courage’ and ‘Doombar’ (at a ‘Smith and Jones chain pub similar menu for future reference to Whetherspoons but less common never heard of them before myself) for a time of rewinding before the Employment group which I even plucked up the courage or rather the enthusiasm/resolve to speak up (this time at Action for Blind Peoples Swail House) unlike last time after a buffet that was put on after all and no wasn’t late unlike earlier meetings and first Employment group. I have even today on a day of E-Mail catch up secured the new Chief Executive of SAVI to come to a NFBUK London Christmas meeting so done some networking today so not all boring just not ‘out and about in Mid and North Surrey and traveling to almost the City of London OK just on the southern side of Father Thames. So that was yesterday, today quiet in comparison, but after and no connection to E-Mailing Joel with couple of follow up comments and queries, got an unexpected coall from Guidedogs, ‘asking have I considered Guidedogs in my will’ well I know never too early, but ‘and it might be recorded for quality purposes’ um guess not related to me E-Mailing a comment after Joel’s presentation yesterday but that slightly unnerved me, I gave my honest opinion after I was asked the question, “no” but “would hope to one day be able to get a guide dog” that is, if I’m ready of course, I was also apparently listed as a ‘supporter’ hence them selecting me to call me about this, new to me but one of the things I E-Mailed Joel about was joining the Guide Dogs’ Campaigners Network so I am rather puzzled. Anyway when I finally started catching up on here, I got distracted by a moving documentary on BBC4 about the late great John Denver, so tragic how he got killed in his aircraft, not that they mentioned the restaurant he owned I used to go to (that’s now closed after his death) but despite the fact never met him his music and his story and the whole programme almost got me emotional from the start or rather did, on that sad note I’ll send this and come back with a side comment aboutn yesterday (though not for much longer and by the time I’ve sent it has turned Saturday in case you’re that astute). Sigh/;) A day later already well I was so exhausted as I stated on T
