As I sat down today I noticed I was sitting next to an elderly man - TopicsExpress

As I sat down today I noticed I was sitting next to an elderly man dressed to the nines sharp as a tack and his daughter who looked to be maybe 15 years my senior or so. He seemed to be very tired and a bit confused and possibly suffering from illness of some sort or dementia. The whole time the daughter was so gentle and patient with him, fixing his jacket and taking communion for him and placing it in his hand and helping him stand and sit when he wanted during service. I couldnt help but think of my own Dad and wonder what type of relationship she and her Dad had growing up. And ofcourse his condition made think of and miss my mom sitting next to me in service every week. I became overwhelmingly emotional and moved to tears as I thought of how God reconciled me and my Dad back together and how grateful I am for him after decades of having little to know relationship with him growing up. In 2013 I made a daughters desperate call to her father at my wits end and with 2 calls. 1st a warning call. 2nd a remove yourself or I will help you remove yourself from my daughters life call my Dad saved me literally from a long life of HELL, depression, and demise. My call was one that could have only been made after forgiveness and reconciliation had taken place just a few short years before with the help of Bruce Hebel s message of Forgiving Forward. I say all this to say forgive your Dad today no matter what he did or didnt do for you or with you. God has a plan greater than we can perceive about our path and destiny. If not for God and my Dad I would not be here today literally. #StillStanding Signed The Kid
