As I see on my 8 am TV screen the direct hit of a rocket on an house in Ashkelon this morning following the 115 mortars and rockets yesterday launched from Gaza including school, health clinic and mosques. As I see the evacuation of hundreds of Israeli families from communities near the Gaza border. As I see at 3 am the destruction of a 14 floor building in Gaza during the night, used by the Ministry of Interior office but also by civilians, asked to leave the building before. As I see the fleeing of Palestinian civilians from flattened destroyed areas or gathering around the latest stricken car carrying terrorists. As I see the proud documentary on Al-Jazhira of militants fighters in tunnels launching their rockets. I wonder: so when will it all end? Whos interest is it to keep on fighting? Qatar who finances the Hamas, Hamas to get a victorious image of evacuated Israeli citizens? the PA that can show the UN Israels war crimes, forgetting that deliberately firing at civilians beyond the border is no less of a war crime... Israel who can continue to destroy Hamas military infrastructure? Meanwhile Israels government has yet to offer its political strategic solution/vision to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict within the greater Middle Eastern reshuffling of alliances and ongoing chaos. Lets not be kept prisoner of a pavlovian response to Hamas rockets. Without having the Hamas won this round of violence, lets start to be creative and see how we can extricate the conflict from its Pavlovianism...
