As I was reading this this morning, I thought about the things - TopicsExpress

As I was reading this this morning, I thought about the things going on in our nation and in Israel and as I read it, I asked God to help me make a difference..... In this sin-ravaged world destined for righteous vengeance of an angry God, It is imperative for God to have friends--those who will approach His throne and beg the pardon of those condemned. The world does not lack for heroes in sports, movies, and music.. America is great today because of our heroes from yesterday, the courageous who paid the ultimate price to ensure democracy in this country.. The heroes we need today are the kind who can whisper a prayer and change the course of a nation... The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.. Therefore have I poured out Mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with fire of My wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God Ezekiel 22:29-31... You can see that this subject material is rather important.. When we fail to develop a close relationship with God, we rob ourselves as well as others.. We are not our own, each of us has an obligation to God and our fellow man.. Is there an Esher who will lay her life on the line, petition the king and spare her people the Jews from annihilation? Are there men and women who cry and travail because of the abominations being committed in our cities? Are the priests only in the pulpit? Do they weep between the porch and altar saying, Spare the people of God?? Where is the modern day John Knox who intimidates pompous politicians even more than the fiercest army in the world does?? Our pasts cannot stop us.. Excuses will not exonerate us; nor can satan keep us from finding our place in the Kingdom.. The ball is in our court.. Whether we will pursue our purpose or be pacified with the present is up to us....
