As I woke this morning my heart and thoughts were with Ft. Hood. Being an Army mom will always be in my heart. I love my country and the fact that my son served and we as a family experienced the sacrifice, true brotherhood and all that comes with being in the military has given me an even deeper love and understanding... A heart connection. I still have many boys in the Military that I love and hold dear to my heart. A tragedy like this rocks your world. I feel so deeply for the families who lost their soldier... I know that pain and it pains me so much for them. I know what they are experiencing these hours later. They have woken to a reality that feels like a night mare. I think about the casualty officers assigned to them... We had the best Chris Kirksey. I pray they have someone so willing to jump through hoops to make everything happen in the time frame, someone with such love and compassion and faith to stand with them every step of the way. We are blessed to have Chris in our lives. The Army was so good to us and I know they will be to these families. Such a sad day... Keep the prayers coming.
