As a composer, I often feel powerless in situations of intense sadness. Today, as we mourn the loss of so many lives in Pakistan, and as we have done in so many instances of violence around the world, I wish there was something I could have done to prevent it. My art wont physically stop an attack like this. So what is its purpose? I dont offer this as a cheap advertisement to look at my music. Rather, I dont know how else to respond and the creation of music is how I hope to bring peace to others and to make a positive difference in this world.
