As a lot of you may know, I have been working on a specific role - TopicsExpress

As a lot of you may know, I have been working on a specific role for almost a year now doing research, working with coaches, studying a new language, developing skills, etc. I am so proud to say that I gave it my all, and I made it to callbacks which is huge considering that it was my first major audition. I received a phone call yesterday notifying me that I did not get the role. I am 100% happy with my hard work, my auditions, and everything I did for the role. In this industry you work hard for every single role, some are meant for you some are not. Although I developed an attachment and an identity with this particular character, I am happy with the turn out and I am excited for what is next for me! I want to share however what I have learned in the past year... 1.) Discipline- when you want something enough you have to train yourself to focus and push yourself to learn the ins and outs of whatever it is. Also know the possibility of not getting said thing and that the discipline will still be beneficial no matter the outcome. YOU NEVER KNOW UNLESS YOU TRY. 2.) You cant always get what you want- Everyone experiences this and it should build you up not break you down. Each no you hear is one no closer to a yes. In auditions a lot of times the nos can be completely out of your control. 3.) Do not focus all of your energy into one thing causing you to blind yourself from other opportunities- Sometimes what is meant for you is waiting just around the corner and though you have your heart on one thing doesnt mean its the right and only fit for you. 4.) Life is like a infinite ladder- Each experience and piece of knowledge is a step... sometimes you forget a tool on the ground and have to step down to get it and work your way back up... but the projects ahead cant be finished if you stay on the ground and dont put the tools to use. Conclusion: Thank you all for your love and support throughout the process, especially: Casey Pobran, Cinda Snow, Kimberly Jentzen, Michelle Colt, Wyoming Cultural Center, Donald the Dialect Coach, my family, and my friends. On to the next project! XO
