As a young child, I remember my dad talking about the Bible being - TopicsExpress

As a young child, I remember my dad talking about the Bible being our roadmap. This song Im posting is a good one , dad and mom sang it in church a lot. On this day that my dad would have been 94, so many memories come back. He went home to be with the Lord when he was 93. Not many people are blessed with that many years on earth. I remember nights dad and I would drive to church. I loved going to church as a child and teen. Dad would ask me to read the Bible to Him as he drove. His sermon was already rooted and grounded in his mind, yet he loved hearing it read or reading it himself. I felt so honoured to read to him. This was a time we could connect and talk about our favorite subject. As the years went by dad never lost his zeal for the word. Although he and mom had their own bible study each night after the kids were tucked in bed, he continued learning, reminding us that we will never know all there is to know, and each time you read the word, God can reveal something new to you. He was so right. He always mentioned the Bible being our roadmap. For as we travel through life, if we dont read and follow the word, we can get lost. But if we look at and read that roadmap, we will stay on the right road. If at times we take the wrong exit, we know we can search the map and get back on the right path of our travel with the Lord. 93 years is a short time in Gods eyes, but in humans, its a long life. Im thankful God allowed us, my mom and siblings to have dad as long as we did. He did what a dad should do in life, he shared that roadmap, never pushed us, just shared it. He made our lives rich beyond compare by introducing us to the greatest book of all, the Holy Bible. And it had to be the King James Version, nothing else would do. The Yes, Thus, Thou and Thees are words of the past, but when we are in one mind and one accord with Jesus Christ, He delivers insight no man can. His roadmap never changes, it will endure to the end. Just like my memories today of my dad, the word will never lose its power and we will never get lost if we follow the roadmap. Thanks daddy and thank You Lord for Your word and my family.
