As a young man with no musical education, Im sometimes mesmerized by the composer Johann Strauss dazzling? Daring? The Great Waltz may have you searching for ways to describe its great charms. This cinematic rhapsody loosely based on the life of composer Johann Strauss, mostly classical version of a famous waltz. I remember once dancing to a waltz at my good friend’s wedding at the Waldorf Astoria New York City during the late 1960s. It was an elegant affair for the times. Within the program we the male companions had to dance to a waltz which we rehearsed numerous times before we got it right. I can still see myself in my black and grey striped tuxedo with tails, sorry to say the marriage only lasted for about 6 months and they looked so good together. As I once had a friend who I worked with once was an opera singer by the name of Susanna Foster who had lunch with me numerous times who told me of her short career in the movie industry, and who had been in various movies like the Phantom of the Opera. So take it from me that it is advisable to expand your musical knowledge by any means possible that of recordings and movies of past history, as you cant have a one track mind in this world.
